Stacy Baugues is #MadeForKnoxville.

Stacy’s career and education were focused around health and fitness–she fully understood the importance of physical activity across the lifetime. But she saw the need for youth fitness programming, and she realized her work had the ability to really implement change.

PowerUp’s goal is to bring physical fitness to children in a fun and educational way, and in the process set them up for future success. Stacy’s Knoxville-born mission has grown into over 200 sites across twenty-five states, allowing her to empower children across the country through wellness education.

“The mission of PowerUp Fitness is to empower youth through fitness, education, fun.”

Power Up Fitness

In Their Own Words..

Through college, I worked my way up from the front desk at a private fitness center up to personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and manager in just a few years. I saw the need for youth fitness programming that was fun and gave kids the opportunity to get active instead of sitting in the fitness center childcare. So, while in grad school in 2012, I launched PowerUp Fitness. I wanted to keep growing as a professional while piloting and validating the PowerUp programs, so I spent time in both the education and nonprofit sectors to understand my potential markets. In June of 2019, I decided to jump in full time to PowerUp and since then have grown our programs to more than 200 sites across twenty-five states.

The mission of PowerUp Fitness is to empower youth through fitness, education, fun. We provide children’s fitness programming to schools, fitness centers, and early learning facilities through an instructor training model to empower wellness champions wanting to make a positive impact in their community.
