Nemesia Sorcar is #MadeForKnoxville.
Discovering the practice of acupuncture changed Nemesia’s path in life. Now that she has experienced the healing effects of Chinese Medicine for herself, Nemesia is helping others heal in the same way.
As a college student studying Wellness and Alternative Medicine, Nemesia was exposed to the ancient techniques of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Her newfound knowledge opened up new pathways to achieve an integrated life, both in her own practice and in her role as a healing guide. Little did she know, the adventure of owning her own acupuncture business would serve as shadow work for addressing mental blocks and inhibitors that were holding her back. Dedicated to evolving into her best self, Nemesia consistently faces each limiting belief to become a more expansive human and business owner. As she engages in this self-work, she is able to help others connect more deeply with themselves in body and spirit.
“I have found that in some ways, having a business is similar to health . . . it requires change and adaptation.”
In Their Own Words…
I have been an Acupuncturist for the past 6 years. I always knew I wanted to help people and found out about Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine while getting my Bachelor’s degree in Wellness and Alternative Medicine in Vermont. After experiencing the profound healing effects of Chinese Medicine I knew I wanted to utilize this modality to help others heal.
My goal as an Acupuncturist is to help people evolve into their fullest most vibrant expressions of themselves. Classical Chinese medicine can be used to support the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our lives to help us feel more integrated. It is a goal of mine to teach introspective tools and lifestyle guidance that can be used to gain a deeper connection to our own innate wisdom of our body. Learning to connect to ourselves and trust ourselves allows us to know how to better take care of ourselves by listening to what our bodies need in each moment.
My Journey in Entrepreneurship:
I decided to open my own business after the pandemic because I realized I wanted the autonomy of working for myself and utilizing my business to express my creative side. I truly believe that having a business has been one of the best tools for me to dig deep into my own subconscious to become aware of certain limiting beliefs that have kept me playing small.
The biggest lesson I have learned about being an entrepreneur is how important our mindset is in achieving our dreams. We are only capable of what we believe we are able to do.
I have found that having a business is a wonderful tool for shadow work because it has forced me to confront self-limiting beliefs, and in the process it has allowed me to own my craft as a healer in a deeper way so that I can share it with the world. I have found that in some ways, having a business is similar to health in that when things aren’t working out, it requires change and adaptation. If we are willing to change and adapt, we can get through obstacles with even more resilience than before, and this change takes courage. Change is never easy, but it is always worth it.
