Marcus Archer is #MadeForKnoxville.

Marcus is a born creative — he has a natural affinity for crafty endeavours like drawing, painting and writing. While working for a print shop, he decided it was time to take a leap of faith on himself and discover the extent of his designing capabilities.

So, he started his own business — Archer Creative Group. Today, Archer Creative offers various graphic design services, such as branding, social media and online services and logos and layout/print design.

While his graphic design work is a “compromise” between client and designer, woodworking is something that allows Marcus to creatively express himself to the fullest extent. So, he opened his second business: Archer Creative Woodworks. Whether you work with Marcus as a designer or buy one of his handcrafted pieces, you can be assured that his services and products are coming from a place of genuine love for creating and a desire to help you meet your needs.

In Their Own Words..

11 years ago, during what was known at the time as “the great recession”, I had this crazy idea to quit my job at a local printshop and start my own graphic design business. I was painfully shy, and had no real plan as to how to grow my business. But, I knew that I had it in me. I knew that I had more design ability than I was able to showcase where I’d been working.

I’ve always been creative. I loved to draw and paint as a child. As an adult, I learned to play guitar and loved to write songs. I love the creative process. Sitting down and creating something that never existed before fascinates me!

After years of creating designs for other people I got another itch. Graphic design is necessarily a compromise. It’s a compromise between the artist’s vision, the customer’s needs, and the tastes of the consumer. I wanted to create things that were completely my own and put them out into the world. Hopefully, there would be some others out there that appreciated them. So, in 2019 Archer Creative Woodworks was born. It’s an effort to build affordably priced, mid-century style wood furniture.

2020 was a challenge for both of my creative endeavors, but I keep putting myself out there. I think that’s what the entrepreneurial spirit is all about, creating things from your heart and then sharing that passion with the world.
