Janine Bobby Ellison is #MadeForKnoxville.

After a 12-year stint of serving in the Air National Guard, Janine is no stranger to missions–whether that’s deploying overseas to work on jets or working as a medical technician. Today, her personal mission looks a bit different. She founded Full Bloom Physio & Yoga to help the women of her community gain back control of their bodies and live with confidence and grace.

Janine’s mission was kickstarted when she found herself experiencing pain in her pelvis and lower back as a new wife. She discovered that there were few, helpful resources available. So, she took her background in yoga, personal training, and physiology to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Today, she runs Full Bloom Women’s Physio & Yoga: a unique physical therapy clinic and yoga studio that focuses on private care for women and medically adaptive yoga. Here, she successfully carries out her mission of helping the women in her community put their own movement and wellness needs first.

Imagine what we could do for our moms, aunts, grandmothers, and our whole families, if the little things were addressed early, BEFORE they caused something life shattering.”

In Their Own Words…

Hi there! I’m newish to Knoxville–moved here during the pandemic when both my husband and myself got out of the military (12 proud years, baby!). Now, I’ve gone rogue as an entrepreneur: I am a private women’s physical therapist and yoga teacher, committed to helping women put their own movement and wellness needs first for longer, stronger, more vibrant lives. Why? These 3 things are the highest fall predictors for mature women: pain with movement, incontinence (leaking when you sneeze!), and having to sit down to put pants on. There is a HIGH rate of death within 1 year of a fall. Imagine what we could do for our moms, aunts, grandmothers, and our whole families, if the little things were addressed early, BEFORE they caused something life shattering. That’s my mission: to help the women of our community to have confidence, strength, and grace when they move.

A personal tidbit: I adore hiking, playing with my dogs, and climbing entirely too big rocks with my husband.
