Ellis Greer is #MadeForKnoxville.
A Knoxville Native, theater lover and professional costume designer: Ellis Greer’s impressive costume career started at Clarence Brown Theater and eventually led her all over the country.
A career making high quality, custom costumes took her to world-class theatres and beautiful places, but in 2020 Ellis made the move home. Now, she spends her non-designing time giving back to the community that cultivated her creative passions by teaching and mentoring at Knoxville Children’s Theater.
“I make custom costumes and clothing, focusing on a high standard of quality, personal fit, and making sure the client feels full satisfaction in their custom garments.”
In Their Own Words..
I’m a Knoxville native, lifelong maker, and lover of local theatre. I began my professional costume career at the Clarence Brown Theatre, earned a BA in Costume Design, and moved around the country to train at world-class theatres such as Shakespeare Theatre Company, Santa Fe Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, and Utah Shakespeare Festival. I hold an MFA in Costume Technology from Indiana University. I returned to Knoxville last August. I teach costume classes and serve as the costume design mentor at Knoxville Children’s Theatre. I make custom costumes and clothing, focusing on a high standard of quality, personal fit, and making sure the client feels full satisfaction in their custom garments.
